Leaving Washington

Leaving my office behind was weird.

I had already arranged with my company that I’d be working remote. I know it’s a bit exploratory – working full remote is uncommon in our organization, but I feel like what I’ve been doing for a while now is to help teams communicate effectively with tools and processes that reduce the need for meetings and physical proximity.

I’ll be back every 6 or so weeks for a bit of time to reconnect. I have my doubts, but I’m also hopeful this can teach our company new ways to operate.

The open road is refreshing and sort of scary. We are headed through the northeast corner of Oregon and making our way to central Mississippi to visit relatives for a while.
