The REC-BMS, Battery Management System, that I selected worked great until I was having some problems with insufficient time in the pre-charge capacitance.
What was found is that the relay that commands the precharge circuit to activate was sticky. Therefore, in certain cases caused the BMS to never disconnect the main contactor.
So, I took the BMS apart and replaced that relay. I took the opportunity to grease up the balancing resistors with a little more compound too.
Pretty cool troubleshooting, out of curiosity, which BMS are you using? I like the setup and am slowly starting to model and layout subsystems and floorplans for my eventual skoolie… and while an electrical system this advanced is way down the road, I should start planning now!
